BroncoDirect Maintenance Might Cause Intermittent Connectivity Issues

On Saturday, March 22, 2008, from 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., maintenance will occur at the CSU's central data center. This could cause intermittent connectivity interruptions during this time for users of BroncoDirect.

BroncoDirect and PeopleSoft systems have been restored to service. Personnel from I&IT will monitor the systems to ensure that they continue to perform normally.

Personnel at CMS (Common Management System, the systemwide office in charge of PeopleSoft for the CSU) are still working to identify and fix the problem. BroncoDirect may be available, but cannot access PeopleSoft services.

The BroncoDirect outage is the result of a failure in the central PeopleSoft system; it appears that all campuses are affected. CSU technical staff are working on the problem, and an updated status is expected around 2pm.

Blackboard Weekly Maintenance Extended on Feb. 10, 2008

On Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, Blackboard weekly maintenance will take place from 2:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. rather than the normal 2:00 a.m. to 4:15 a.m. time. During this extended time, I&IT will be upgrading hardware capacity. We apologize for any inconvenience and greatly appreciate your understanding.

Windows File Sharing Available Again

The hardware failure causing inaccessibility to the Windows file sharing structure has been repaired. All Win domain users should be able to access their network share files. Performance may be slightly impacted for the next few hours. Users are advised to try a re-boot of their computers if this occurs. Further questions should be directed to the Help Desk at 909.869.6776.

Windows Network Files Not Available to All

Users storing documents on the Win domain's file share space may not be able to access all of their documents. Users may get reports of empty folders. An electrical breaker within I&IT server racks was tripped, taking down a portion of the disk storage. I&IT technical personnel are working with our vendors to safely bring the storage and associated file content back on line.

BroncoDirect, PeopleSoft availability restored

BroncoDirect and PeopleSoft access has been restored. CSU data technicians have fixed a process that was "hung," reestablishing connectivity.

PeopleSoft production is experiencing technical difficulties. All BroncoDirect users, as well as PeopleSoft production users, are unable to access their data. I&IT is working with the CSU data center personnel on restoring service.

Internet Connectivity Affected Early Hours on Dec. 19, 2007

The university's Internet Service Provider will be conducting maintenance on the campus' connection to the Internet in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007. Connectivity will be intermittent from 12:01 a.m. until 5:00 a.m.during the maintenance.

Because of technical communications difficulties among various hardware, Blackboard was unavailable Dec. 10, 2007, from approximately 4:00 a.m. until 7:00 a.m. I&IT technical personnel have corrected the problems.

Users may still experience Blackboard problems

Although Blackboard is functioning, some users may be unable to connect to it, or may receive a spurious warning about an expired security certificate. These problems are the result of cached internet addresses (saved local copies) kept by internet service providers or on individual computers. These problems should resolve over the next few hours as the cached information is refreshed.
