Access to Old Voice Mail System Ends June 30th

Add to Memories Share this!
On July 1, 2010 I&IT will be permanently shutting down access to the old voice mail system that was upgraded to a new version earlier this year.

The old system has been available since March 26 at x6499 for the retrieval of old voice mail messages left before that date. After June 30, 2010, these messages will no longer be available for retrieval.

The current voice mail system may still be accessed in the usual way by dialing x4777 on campus or (909) 869-4777 from off campus. Users with a dedicated voice mail button on their phone may access their voice mail by pressing that button.

If you have any questions, please contact the Cal Poly Pomona Help Desk at 909.869.6776.

The CPP wireless network is now functioning in all buildings. If you encounter problems, it is most likely a separate issue; please contact the Cal Poly Pomona Help Desk, (909) 869-6776.

Wireless network problems in some buildings

Add to Memories Share this!

We are currently experiencing problems with the CPP wireless network.
CPP is not available in buildings 3, 4, 6, 26, 26a, 66, 79, 79a, 79b, 81a and University Village, though the "Guest" wireless network remains active and usable. The current ETA for resolution is late afternoon, today.

As a point of note, clients connecting to the "Guest" wireless network may now receive a private IP address in the 10.110.X.X range rather than a public 134.71.X.X. This change will help alleviate some capacity issues we have been experiencing and should be completely transparent to the users.

I&IT is upgrading its email infrastructure to Exchange 2007. As part of the move, all individual and group email boxes will be moved starting March 19. As each mailbox is moved, users will experience outages from 5 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of their mail boxes. User and group mail boxes will be moved nights and weekends. The upgarde is expected to complete in early April. Exchange 2007 will provide such features as Outlook Anywhere, improved Macintosh and iPhone connectivity and expanded Out of Office options.

As the last step of the shutdown of the old Intranet and its replacement, user files and web pages left on the DFS file infrastructure are no longer available. User access to DFS was shut off today (March 8, 2010). Users should now be storing their files and web pages on the ZFS file structure, as noted in several communications to the campus community over the last several months.
